Looking at buying an engine for the Hybrid.

I’ve already have nixed junkyards, so I’ve decided on going with Like, Kind, & Quality. I have an ASE-certified mechanic for the install so the warranty will be in effect, but now I have to pick an engine.

The above engine is from an Escape in Blue Island, IL with 115K miles. That’s a 40 minute drive from the shop where I have the car, but gas is not an issue since the company covers fuel for the truck. It costs $1,325. I like this engine, but doesn’t a lot of things like water pumps and alternators start going wrong at ~120K miles?

This one with 145K miles is in Hutisford, WI, a 2.5 hour drive (again, gas is not an issue). It has 30K more miles, but it only costs $1,150.

Pretty good engines. Regularly go over 300k as taxis.
